Pavement Crack Sealing Program
Crack sealing is designed to extend the life of existing pavements by eliminating or reducing the entrance of water into the pavement structure through the upper surface. By eliminating the entrance of water into the street sub surface, deterioration to the roadway is significantly reduced.
Overlaying the street can be deferred for several years and maintenance costs are lowered. Crack sealing can be very effective and extend the life of the asphalt pavement significantly.

- Rout the cracks. Routing removes deteriorated material and provides a consistent channel in which the sealant can be applied.
- Clean with compressed air to remove debris and prepare the surface for the sealant.
- Apply hot sealant to the routed cracks. The sealant remains flexible, which allows it to withstand extreme temperature changes.
